TRIAL-IN Pharma was founded in Israel in 2016 by Nir Erez, a chemist engineer with master degree in organic chemistry from the Weizmann institute of Science. From 2003 to 2013 Nir worked for the pharmaceutical giant “Roche” which specializes in the development and marketing cancer drugs, and served in diverse positions in the oncology business unit of the company. In 2013 Nir founded an independent enterprise specializing in accompanying pharmaceutical companies who conduct clinical trials. In 2016 he founded TRIAL-IN Pharma out of his desire to increase access to advanced cancer treatments and drugs at the forefront of science to cancer patients, through clinical trials and compassionate use programs, which they can benefit from more than any standard protocol being offered to them.
TRIAL-IN Pharma operates with the goal to screen and match between available treatments at the spearhead of the fight against cancer to the patients’ unique medical condition, beyond the standard protocols being offered at the medical center or in second- or third opinion.
It is important for us to strengthen and accurate the treatment chosen for and with the cancer patient by deploying the most relevant treatment options for him.
Senior oncologists receive and study carefully every medical file and locate the most appropriate clinical trials for the patient and that the patient is suitable for them. The research is conducted from approximately 20,000 cancer clinical trials around the globe, each of which has dozens of threshold conditions that the patient must fully meet in order to be accepted. We prioritize the clinical trials and submit a systematic findings report to both the patient and his / her treating oncologist to decide the best treatment.
TRAIL-IN Pharma accompanies the patient and his family with professional-medical aspects throughout the entire period until the actual treatment is administered, with the cooperation of the treating oncologist. We contact the principal investigators of clinical trials, the research teams and the pharmaceutical companies anywhere in the world and in any medical center, translating the medical documents and all that is necessary in communicating with them.
Nir Erez, Founder and CEO
Nir Erez, a chemistry engineer with a master’s degree in chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science joined in 2003 the giant pharmaceutical company Roche Pharmaceuticals (Israel) Ltd. which specializes in the development and marketing cancer drugs, and served in diverse positions in the oncology business unit of the company. During his time with the company, he specialized in breakthrough cancer treatments, international cancer treatment guidelines, different types of cancer and the various mechanisms involved in the development of cancer. It was there that he also acquired his professional knowledge in the field and established contacts with the majority of oncologists in Israel as well as several opinion leaders in the world.
In 2006 he lost his mother as a result of cancer and after a stubborn and difficult struggle lasting for 4 years. Throughout this difficult period, Nir was not aware of the limitations of the medical system even though he worked in the field. Oncologists did not refer him to search for clinical trials and did not offer any trial as a therapeutic option for his mother’s cancer. It should be noted that the chances of success of the standard protocol that his mother received for her illness were only 2% and had intolerable side effects.
Several years after his mother passed away and following his unique background and activity in the field of cancer and cancer research, Nir came across the results of a clinical trial that might have been appropriate for his mother. The results of the clinical trial demonstrated 15 times higher success from the standard protocol it received.
Nir took his professional and personal experience and background, his knowledge and his long-standing acquaintance within the oncology world, connected all the dots to a company whose goal is to help other cancer patients and caregivers know about treatments at the forefront of science beyond the standard protocols and to receive these treatments. The value of the company is also to the relatives and the circle of acquaintances surrounding the cancer patient, who fight for his life, who now know that everything is done for their loved ones, that every stone is turned and that they will not remain in the future with a sense of missed opportunity.
Nir is a well-known speaker in professional conferences and interviewed by many media channels in Israel and abroad on the message TRIAL-IN Pharma brings to cancer patients and their relatives around the world.
